Small Business Too Big to ignore
Last week small business came out fighting through Australia Business Limited and local chamber of commerce with other associated business groups. The campaign: “Too Big to Ignore”. We learnt that small businesses employ 7,000,000 people Australia wide. Wow! Here is a collective group that has until recently struggled to get a word in edge ways but have come out swinging. As Australians, we need these businesses to prosper, and to develop.

The thing I like is that this campaign is apolitical and you can make a difference to your business locally and to your national community by registering online for you to have a say in your future. It is a very informative website.
Small business can be so competitive in other areas other than price and can have an organic advantage over many competitors. The longer that you serve the community with good service, integrity, loyalty and fair pricing the longer the community will support you. As your business expands, you employ another person and so the positive cycle will continue.
This brings me to another point:
Is it enough to support a group who represent us as business owners?
My belief is we still need to be smarter in our approach to our own business. When we reflect on our business, we need to consider what we do best and how we can improve our business by utilising services of a specialist like an accountant, business coach/ trainer or an advertising/marketing organisation. Do you contract out the cleaning, warehousing or have a specialist to help with your marketing? We need to ensure that our business is healthy and on track and you can do this with a business coach or consider utilising specialist trainers to give your business a competitive edge over direct competitors or large organisations.
The campaign “Too Big to Ignore” will assist your business in its viability for the future so consider signing up and do what you can for those 7,000,000 Australians that YOU employ and the 2,000,000 business owners. Together we can make a difference.
